Erin's Goal Accomplished!

That's right, Erin got her hair cut. 18 months ago she decided that she wanted to grow it long enough to donate it to make a wig. The summer weather, when it's actually been hot, has made her hair really bug her, she has been asking to get it cut for a couple of weeks. Today was the day!

First we washed, dried and brushed it. Here is her before picture.

Then we measured it. 9 inches able to be donated to Pantene Great Lengths.

Here's the cut! 

No turning back now!

It's chopped off.

And after some finishing touches it's all done. 

She loves it so much! It'll be way neater to keep and cooler for her if summer makes a return appearance.

I'm so proud of her. It was hard not to cry while cutting it. Not because of the length being gone, personally I am VERY grateful that it's gone. Less nagging to keep her hair neat. I cried because I am so proud of her. She sacrificed what she wanted to do with her hair for 18 months so someone else can have hair. No one asked her to do it. No one made her do it. It's something she came up with on her own and wanted to do it. It was her diligence and perseverance that helped her accomplish her goal. It was the most selfless act I've seen her come up with. I am so proud of her and wanted to share her goal with you. She'd be very embarrassed if she knew that I was posting it on here. She's hoping no one is going to notice her hair gone as she doesn't want questions asked of her.

Gosh I love this girl. Not only has she brought a smile to her face and mine, but I know that whoever gets a wig from this hair well be thrilled about her sacrifice. I know her Heavenly Father is so happy with what she did for another one of his children. I hope she remembers the feeling. I hope that it has planted a huge seed in her heart of helping others out.

I'm so grateful for her example to her siblings and to me.
