First we washed, dried and brushed it. Here is her before picture.
Then we measured it. 9 inches able to be donated to Pantene Great Lengths.
Here's the cut!
No turning back now!
It's chopped off.
And after some finishing touches it's all done.
I'm so proud of her. It was hard not to cry while cutting it. Not because of the length being gone, personally I am VERY grateful that it's gone. Less nagging to keep her hair neat. I cried because I am so proud of her. She sacrificed what she wanted to do with her hair for 18 months so someone else can have hair. No one asked her to do it. No one made her do it. It's something she came up with on her own and wanted to do it. It was her diligence and perseverance that helped her accomplish her goal. It was the most selfless act I've seen her come up with. I am so proud of her and wanted to share her goal with you. She'd be very embarrassed if she knew that I was posting it on here. She's hoping no one is going to notice her hair gone as she doesn't want questions asked of her.
Gosh I love this girl. Not only has she brought a smile to her face and mine, but I know that whoever gets a wig from this hair well be thrilled about her sacrifice. I know her Heavenly Father is so happy with what she did for another one of his children. I hope she remembers the feeling. I hope that it has planted a huge seed in her heart of helping others out.
I'm so grateful for her example to her siblings and to me.
I love you Erin!

She looks great with her new look...tres chic!
How neat! Love the new look and I cannot believe how grown-up Erin is!!
Thank you for the post! Please don't make me wait so long for the next. ;)
Liz! I literally just picked up my laptop and stared at the picture of your daughter with the short hair holding up her chopped pony. She looks SO much like how I remember you from all my Nova Scotia summers. She's adorable and it made me nostalgic. What an awesome kid for making the donation!
Oh ERIN!!! We love you!!! Thanks so much for doing that! And holy cow mini Liz much???
